Biography

Dr. Pentin received her MD degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed her Family Medicine residency at the University of Vermont, where she served as Chief Resident. She is a graduate of the faculty development fellowship of the University of Washington Family Medicine Residency Network. She is board-certified and has been named a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Pentin is Chief of Service for Family Medicine at the UW Medical Center. She is site director for the 3rd year UW medical student clerkship and a core faculty member in the UW Family Medicine Residency. She practices full-spectrum family medicine including obstetrics. She is also a nationally-recognized expert in the field of chronic pain management and the treatment of addictions. She serves as the primary care pain and addictions expert with the UW Department of Anesthesia & Pain Medicine's weekly Telepain consultative service for providers throughout the Pacific Northwest.
When not at her desk in Seattle, Dr. Pentin is in her 25th year of combined active duty and reserve service as a U.S. Navy medical officer (she attended medical school on a Navy scholarship). She also chairs the Washington Academy of Family Physicians Annual Scientific Assembly.
